Any unit will find brush....Any brand will find brush....
It is always a good idea to know kind of what features you would like in a unit when researching this question....2d..?? DI..?? SI..?? GPS...?
Then decide what price range you could be comfortable with....
Do you know yet these 2 questions....??

I don't need GPS. I want a screen that shows the real image and not some fuzzy cartoon.
I feel a Si-sidefinder unit makes finding brush easy cause you can see it from over a hundred feet plus away, with a Down scan Di, or or old style depth finder you have to be on top of it to see it. Oh sure some Di will see it 20?? feet or so off to the side depending on depth of water you are in.When I had the 997(now) HDS8 as I went past another boat fishing I always waved to them, yes a thank you style wave-Why? because I quickly will bring up the Si screen to side where other boat is and scan the water under their boat, yep found many brush piles(and marked) that way, and I always felt it was only proper to wave THANKS to those folks.Hands Clapping
study hard, look long time, ask many questions, lots of good units out there, here is a post of some brush with a lowrancehttp://www.crappie.com/crappie/attac...rappie-005.jpghttp://www.crappie.com/crappie/attac...rappie-018.jpg
Almost everything out there will work but I think the bigger units with SideImaging will help you locate brush the quickest. If it fits in your budget, I would get a Humminbird with a big screen. It makes it easier to see detail and you can cover water a little more quickly.
If you're going for one of the bigger units, check out the Lowrance 8 or 10". They will show 4 features at once. The only ones that do. You can see Si, Di, Sonar, and GPS all at the same time. You can also split screen the sonar for a total of 5. I sell a bunch of these to my crappie boat customers. I specialize in crappie boats, and gear.
