Crankbait ?
I was catching limits everytime till water warmed up. First time water was 65 then 69 once it got to 70 catch rate started dropping. Yesterday water was 81 we had 10 in the boat by 1pm,we changed tactics and spider rig along the shoreline in 8 to 10 ft. of water and ended up catching 25 more in 2Hr. The only thing I can think of is we had a storm the night before and it moved them to cover. Any other ideas? I always thought the cranks work better the hotter the water got.

Some days the crappie will do the opposite of what we feel like they will be doing. The overall hot weather pattern is the white crappie following the shad schools, usually over deeper water and usually if you can find the shad, you can find the white crappie. Black crappie relate more to cover year round from what I understand. Just my 2 cents worth.

I think your right on with that info Scott.....that is what I have always observed and read about as well.

Yes you might be right cause most of the fish are blacks. But when the water was colder we wore em out in deep water chasing bait.
