Im fixen to put 300yards of 80 lb dyneema braid on my favorite catfish reel.Its a Penn reel and my favorite because of how smooth its drag is and how tough the overall reel is itself.Im undecided on wither are not to but backing on the reel before i put the 300 yds of braid.......im thinking maybe i should.... ???:confused:

I always put a little bit of backing on before I put braid on any reel. I have heard if you don't that it could just spin on the spool and possibly cut into the reel. Hope this helps.
