HDS networking question

Is this what I need to simply link two HDS units together for waypoint and transducer sharing. Will also have an LSS-1 in the mix as well. Or is there a simpler solution. I was thinking there was a simpler way with just a cable that plugged directly into the back of each unit, but didn't see it on the Lowrance site.

You don't need to add NMEA2000 for this function. It can be done via Ethernet.

I have the NMEA2000 network end powered. Needed the NMEA2000 network for external antenna 4000 and also for Yamaha engine instrumentation. Was it worth it? Not sure yet.

If you install NMEA2000, be sure to put the network terminators in positions as described.Doh Some stuff will not function just rite.

Just erase the Garmin logo and write in Lowrance. It will then work.

I know what not "to do" also.

Thanks CP. Ethernet is what I want and needed. That NMEA backbone looks like it could get expensive pretty quick with all the T connectors and Terminators and what not. Sure would be handy to be able to have real time fuel flow for optimum fuel burn these days though.

I have two HDS8's linked by Ethernet---works great.

NMEA2000 steup is expensive. I got most of my stuff from Cabela's bargain cave after Christmas sale. Got the stuff at half price, but I still feel like I was bent over a stump at the so called reduced prices.
