Very nice. I've got to order some of those. Hey what's the advantage of sickle over the aberdeen? never used them before.
I think this needs a better explanation. I was going to start making a few Weedless Pony Head (Road Runner) jigs to sell. I had it all worked out and they worked great. Only problem is, I discovered Blakemore has a Trademark on the Road Runner shape. Meaning nobody can sell any legally without asking for trouble. So that was scrapped. So I went back to the drawing board. I started designing a different mold that offers the same basic idea and doesn't infringe on their Trademark. I was working with a prototype Saturday and headed to the local pond to try it out. This pond usually has very few gills around the shore and most that fish there are not successful. I get there around 1pm. I'm excited to cast it and see it at work. However I forgot to secure the ring that holds the blade on. I was changing a lot of different blade sizes at home and just forgot to secure it. Anywho, I cast it out and crank it back close to the top of the surface. BAM, FISH ON (woo-hoo first cast). A 13" LM Trash fish. As he's coming in, he slings his head to the side and I see the blade flying in the opposite direction. Test drives over...lol. Here is why the 1/2 pictures come in from above. I finally got most of the bugs worked out Sunday evening and the first (rose bush) test was a success. The second (pool) test was a success as well. I was so excited to share some pictures, but didn't want everything shown yet. I'm going to be ordering some more components for these and then will show the other half.
I have a question.... if it were available, how much would you consider a fair price for 1 unpainted weedless stick guard jig with a chin spinner blade attached to a hook of your choice?

I would think at least twice what it cost to make them...
the stump jumper also has a Pony Head... with a spinner blade attached
i was always taught that if there over 18 then your good to go.
whats different about the new design???.......ENONEYE, ive been using sickle hooks for trolling this year....they seem to work great for trolling, like prowler said they are sharp....

As far as price, let's see. If you buy oringinal RR they sell for around $.47 ea. The original RR's don't have a weed guard but they are painted and they have a soft hook which straitens fairly easily so you can usually get them back when they get snagged. I was at Ky Lake 2 years ago and a guy at a bait shop had some homemade imitations for $36.00 per 100. No paint and not weedless but @ $.36 each, not a bad price. They work okay but they do have a little smaller blade. So how about somewhere in between and use the little larger blade. Let's say$ 43.00 per 100 or $24.00 per 50 plus shipping.
