gene, we just got back from oiur cruise yesterday and we met a really nice family from la rose (sp)?? the dad's name is troy lee. he owns a body shop. don't know the name of it, but he and his wife and three kids were very nice. i think gracie, my 14 year old took a liking to his 16 year old son. LOL i think you are fairly close to him, huh??

Hello Doc, sorry I missed your post until this morning. With the fishing trip Saturday and shopping with Linda for some clothes on Sunday I just quickly glanced at the forum and moved on. Yes Larose is about 30 minutes away. It's on highway 1 which leads to Grand Isle. Boy I bet they sounded like Cajuns, a lot of Cajuns from that area are heavy in Cajun speak. I hope y'all had a good time. Where did you leave out of and where did you go. We took a short 5 day cruise week before out of Jacksonville FL and went to Nassau. Great time but too much water and no fishing. Tell Gracie to watch out for those Cajun boys, they can be charmers.

ok Mark, now you have struck my attention.... What in the world is yoke some crappie mean? Was that a typo or am I missing something here?
my pappaw used to say this phrase with bream. i always thought it was kinda like "yoking" an ox. you know, putting that loop thing (yoke) around his neck. i am pretty sure it means to just hammer the crap out of them. fill a box. catch a mess.
hope i explained it to where you folks from the "south" can understand it. LOL

Yep, I understand it now Mark. by the way, we quit using ox way back in the day, down here in the south, we use tractors now...lol
