Trolling Rods

I pretty much have a handle on different types of vertical jigging rods, however, trolling rods are a new game for me. Is stiffness, backbone,when trolling multiple baits, a really a big issue? I bought a few poles that are pretty limber and wonder if I need to move up to heavier rods. I trolled over the winter at Larto and Toledo Bend and when the fish were really hitting good, I caught a few. None real deep, maybe 15 feet. I'm going to give it a try again this fall, if you have any advice or just preferences....please share your thoughts..Thanks.BC
