I see and read where some of you are mixing concrete and pouring it into plastic dish pans. My question is does pan go into water or do you all spray inside of plastic pan with something so concrete does not stick or does concrete turn loose with ease on it's own. Thinking about trying this method depending on you all's anwsers. Also thinking about digging hole in the ground instead of using dish pan.
After the concrete sets up you can turn them over and pop the pan off. We have used the same pans for years.

The dishpans work really well..But, we have building wood frames and just building them in that...
How long does it take for the concrete to solidify? And do you flip the stake bed over to pop the dishpan off?? These look great, and such a novel idea. Are you drilling small holes in each pipe?

You also can dig a hole in the dirt and pour your concrete in it. After it sets up pick it up by the steaks that you have put in it.
how many can you do with an 80# bag of sakrete??
A 11.5 qt. dish pan takes 40lbs.
The wider base should make them less likely to turn over. Are you adding any wire to your concrete to reinforce it?
The problems that I had were... Getting the poles/stacks to stick up were I wanted them without falling, some of the pans broke as the concrete set up, and most of mine fell apart when I took them out of the pans....

I've seen this happen and I believe the wider the bases, the more likely it is to occur. It might be because you needed more water to concrete and it might have helped if you had added some wire or something to help it hold together. The stakes cannot move at all until the concrete has set up. I sometime will drive a couple of nails into it and leave half of it hanging out to help hold in the concrete.Quote:
