Possible proposal here - what do you think? Mirror Chrome Powder paint

Ok, so I was on a popular auction site last night and up popped an auction for 5lbs of High Gloss Mirror Chrome, fully bonded metallic powder paint. Had a buy it now price for ridiculously low, so I bought it. Ok. Now I have 5lbs of chrome powder being shipped to me. I have absolutely no need for that much!! I'm considering splitting it into 5, 1lb packages, keeping one, and selling the other 4. I'm thinking I could sell it for $12/lb shipped. This would give me my pound for free, and give a darn good deal to somc CDC members. Would there be any interest? Let me know. I have not received the paint yet, but this is supposed to be the stuff that makes very good basecoat for candy colors, or just a pretty shiny head all by itself. I will certainly be testing the paint to see if it's as advertised. Let me know via PM or this thread. I'm not officially selling it yet, just toying with the idea and seeing if there is any interest. The 5lbs is on the way - I'm hoping there's some interest :D

Thanks rev - I'm new here and not looking to be a trouble maker (although my wife might accuse me of that from time to time....) Did a little more research, believe this is a DOW brand paint. Supposed to be good stuff - I sure hope so, otherwise I'll be powderpainting my entire house!! LOL!

I received the mirror chrome powder via FEDEX today - arrived nicely packaged in perfect shape. This is new powder, not reclaimed I'm positive. I coated and cured 4 jigs right away so I could get them up here. My impressions: Paint is very nice and fluid - one of the best paints I've used for nice easy coverage. I don't have any candy paints - I think this stuff is bright enough and reflective enough though that it should do a pretty good job as a candy undercoat. Not as good as a chrome plated jig, but no paint is going to match a chrome plate - then again the cost is way way way less too! I cured at 300 for 20 minutes and here are the pics.

I think I'll keep 8oz to a pound depending on how much interest there is from you guys. PM me if you are interested - prices will be VERY reasonable. I'm not trying to make any money, just want to pay for my own paint :cool:

I guess I was expecting more of a shiny Chrome finished product. When you say it has a mirror finish then I was expecting to see a reflection.

Ship, your looking for the ultimate chrome/ ultra chrome, some companies call it ultra, some call it ultimate pp then....
