Can anyone tell me anything about dying antron chenille with cool aid?
google it. Man there is some neat stuff that pops up. Some really neat recipes how to do it...
Not sure why you would want to, but I do know they start out with just white I suppose and die it all to the colors they sell. I have got some that are different shades by a good bit just depending on what batch it was from.
I doubt they use cool aid though, but I know lots of people use the cool aid for some stuff they die. I know there are a good many different dies people use, but since I have never got into that I can't say much other than I have seen lots of recommendations to use Veniards. Here is a link to that...
"Using Veniards Fly Tying Dye, Fly Tying - Volume 5, Week 15 Fly Angler's OnLine"
Also some use Rit die and there are a good many more, but just pick one that will not fade out. Since I have never tries the cool aid thing I can't say much about that, sorry.

i got to think that kool aid is going to fade and bleed into the other materials on the jig.
I want to because I can't find Lavender Antron and no other chenille holds up like it does.
Try a lil piece in grape koolaid. Worst case scenario u have something to drink! If you want to buy dye.... Pro chem's prowash is my favorite dye. I've never dyed chenille though.
I have some Lavender hackle, but not sure where I got it and that is really unusual since I keep where I got in in the bags I put them in. Crystal Antron comes in Purple, but not Lavender as you said.
I know who makes or sells that Crystal Antron and don't see that color listed at all so think your right and you will have to die it your self. The only Lavender I see is Rayon Chenille from Danville and I think I have some of it.

Turns out dying Antron chenille takes serious stuff. Best bet is the lav rayon. Crazy has it #333
I talked to a guy today that said Rit powder would do it. I guess I'll give it a try.
