Everything but crappie here lately???

Been running into all kinds of critters here lately. Where I work I often get calls to get cats, possoms, coons, whatever might show up out of peoples yards, houses, etc...
I have a little lawn cutting business on the side and a young kid that works for me during the day when im at my regular job. Well he calls me to say ive got a snapper in my front yard, i live a good 1/4 or more mile from any water so I thought he might be wrong. But no he was absolutly right, probably a female that wondered around looking for a good spot to lay eggs and ended up lost in my front yard, I gave here a free ride back to the marsh.
Also this time of year a common turtle around here is the Diamond Back Terripin, really neat turtles but they get hit on the roads alot trying to get back into the salt water bays. So when ever I see one or a boxer I make sure they get to the side they want to be on. One of those good deed things we all should take time to do.
Then for a first in my critter encounters got a call about a big bird hurt in one of our nature areas, turned out to be a blue heron. It had a double spec rig it was all hung up in, spec rigs are like large crappie jigs we use alot for flounder. It had one hung up in its foot and the other in its wing so when it would try to step it would pull his wing down and 1/2 the time would fall down, no chance of flying could not even open its wings. Well got it all untangled and last I saw he was walking out to the marsh, still very weak so hope he made it and gobbled up a bunch of minies to get his strenth back.
So I'm thinking I should get my butt out crappies fishing, i've been busy with work and such and tear em up is tied up with his puppy, we have kind of lost track of the crappie scene, but we'll get out, work will slow and the puppy will grow up before we know it. Its getting to hot to do much anyway, supposedly it was 102 not far from me on thursday afternoon?? Killer!
