Sets
Fished with a guide this past Saturday...Learned a few news things on structure....Our guide he drops 5-6 sort like dishpan style condos in one area...But, he uses wood slabs at around 3/4 inch wide and only 3 to 4 ft tall...He uses these in pretty much all the different depths....Unless obivously your in water less than 3ft tall etc..
I plan just start building mine this way....He drops his in sort in a circle formation....

Depending on depth and would guess bottom type and orientation (level, sloped, steep) and the kind of fishing you normally use (trolling, slip bobber, jigging, ect) could see advantages to different types of sets; for trolling, would think straight rows might be advantagous, for steep breaks again, in line shallow to deep sets might be the best placement, ect...alot of variables to consider, actually. And do you ice fish? All valid circumstances to think about...

I mostly vertical jig fish and slip bobber fish over my sets..

Great video, I've watched it a few times. Some guys only have rock to work with or corp of engineers insists on stakes being in cement. How many seasons will your stakes last in your dark water?
