Very few from the Shoe
Make a mental note. Don't go to Horseshoe Memorial Day Weekend when the wind is 20-30 mph and 100 jet skis , pontoons and pleasure boats are with ya'll.We fought the wind and waves and left at 12:00. We found fish just hard to fish.Call it instant karma but I used to be that guy in the pleasure boat and never thought anything about the size of my wake on a jon boat trying jig fish. For those that laugh at 5 fish posts I am sorry!:(

I fished the turney at Conway Saturday and have not been on the water since. Must be a 1000 boats on Greers today.

It really aint the weekend to be ANYWHERE trying to be serious. On holidays my plan is go early and leave early regardless of the bite.:o

Note Taken :) Assuming Wed.-Fri. of next week will be less windy and a few less pleasure boaters, how should we attack the slabs?
-
I never fish the weekends...Holiday or not. Especially at Horseshoe. Just fortuante enough to work shift work and able to fish during the week!!
-
should have came down to lake pine bluff.

was also at the shoe a little sunday and monday- wind was brutal- not including the pleasure boat wakes!
Did have a little success after learning how to cope with the wind and find the "sweet spots" in the pads- boy had not fished pads in prolly 20 yrs, so struggled losing a ton of fish on sunday. Finally figured out a way to getum in the boat Monday- all in all it was kinda of a push with the fish caught versus the wind and boats. But adding the two days together the fillets are "at the end of the day", worth it!

Billy, have you tried Wappanoca this year? I have heard a couple of decent reports from there this year. Would have sure beat the crap out of the show with that wind and all the lake roaches and pleasure boaters.
