If all you are going to run on the battery is the fishfinder then a motorcycle or lawnmower battery will work just fine.
That's what I would use but I would get the Gel cell. Walmart has them pretty reasonable. No acid to spill.Quote:

I use a WalMart lawnmower battery for my aerator and can run it for 2 days without needing a recharge.
