Ok guys I think this might get some good feedback So here it goes I am still new to Tying and sometimes yall use words that lets just say I dont get! Like "Rope Dub" and general stuff that for some reason I cant think of until I hear it! Do you think Us as in Noobies can get a sticky post for terms lol! Thanks!
Rope Dub is not something you should know even as an experienced tyer so forget that until you learn all the other things that will help you jig tying. Rope dub is something new to most tyers, just not the guy that has been doing it for 30 years. Actually you wouldn't even know what benefit rope dub is if you don't learn regular ways to dub and there are several of them.
You should be learning the difference in Neck hackle, Saddle Hackle, Soft hackle etc. and what they are used for. Learn when someone says barbules what that means and I will even tell you that. Barbules is the soft part of a feather that come off the stem or quill if a big feather. You know on marabou, it's the part you tie in as your tail after removing the stem.
Tying terms will take a while and new guys find out that is a big category as there are lots of words used to described materials or even the technique used. I suggest you read a lot on fly tying sites to learn a lot of this.
You shouldn't try learning to run before you walk. However this is just my opinion.

I have been tying flies in jigs ever since I was 16 and I still do not know all the terminology there is for me I do not use fancy words and of course we turn 64 this spring so you definitely know how many years that I've been tying it's got nothing to do with knowing all the terminology that we use in works for tying the jigs and flies like skip said learn the basics and then progress in tying jigs you will not need to know a lot of different words for tying up jigs most of the people on here do not have a clue on most of the other fly tying works it we may use would even confuse anybody you have to be into it a long time and even the and skip and many other guys that been doing it for a while do not know all the terminologies or works there is soon to fly tying and I think skip will agree with me that we do not care to learn too many of them but you have to know a certain amount because on buying some materials you will learn as time goes by like skip said keep on reading a lot of material out there for you and definitely look at skips slides if there is anything more that I can do for you please let me know I hope the small package that I sent you will help you out.

Most of the simple terms below all come from fly tying in some way. The ones I have listed are ones that I had trouble figuring out when i tried to learn more as you are obviously doing. Barbules - Skip is correct with his info about the barbules, it pretty much is the soft part of a feather.
Palmer - Tying a hackle feather (or the new palmer chenille) on the hook shank and wrapping it around the shank so the feather sticks out in all directions.
Dubbing - A material that is used to create fly/jig bodies. It is usually fine hair or flash material chopped into very short length. You take a piece of wax and rub it on your thread to help the material to stick and then apply and twist the chopped hair to the waxed piece of thread. Make wraps of the 'dubbed' material and you have an instant buggy looking body.
Kip tail - It is simply calf tail. Have never understood why, but it seems fly tiers call it calf tail and jig tiers call it kip tail.
Flex Seal - a popular cement/glue that many use to seal their finish knots.
Zonkers - Rabbit hide with the fur on it that the hide is cut into thin strips. The term Zonkers refers to when the hide is cut with the direction of the hair and the term Cross-Cut is used when the hide is cut perpendicular to the direction of the hair. Zonks are often used for tails and cross-cut used for wrapping around the hook shank to make a body.
Grizzly - This term is often used when a material (feathers, fur, flash) has black lines that run across it making it look as though it has black bars.
Strung - As in strung marabou, strung hackle, strung peacock - is when the thick ends of a feather are lashed together with string to make it easy to keep a bunch of feather together. Easier than having a bag of loose feathers anyway.
Bodkin - A tool that is pretty much a needle with some type of handle. Use full for moving small items that are tied on a fly/jig.
Bobbin - The tool that holds your thread.
Lead Collar or Lead Barb - The section of a jig head that is used to hold plastic lures in place on the hook. Lead collars and barbs are often cut off when tying jigs.
I do strongly agree with both Skip and Snake that you do not need to know every term there is about fly tying to create a fly or jig that will catch fish, but it sure makes it a lot easier to learn from other more experienced tiers, tutorials and books when you do know and understand some of the more complex terms IMO. I wish I could post some pics of stuff, but haven’t figured that part out yet. If you wish to post pictures here it's really easy and there are two ways. One is using the tools here on the site which I will post a link that Slab posted. However I most use my free photobucket account where I upload pictures from my computer. After the picture are there I can then copy the link from photobucket and paste it here and the picture shows up. When you have pictures on there that you want to paste here just put your cursor over that picture and a box will show up that has 4 links for different uses and the very bottom one will work here or any board.
If you just want to upload right from your computer to here this post by Slab will tell you how to set up your ability to do so...

No matter which way you use I would recommend that you re-size your photos to something around 640x480 pixels before doing so. That is the normal size people use on the internet and takes up less room on the server and people can view them without having the picture larger than will show on the computer screen. The 640 pixels side to side size is more important that the other one which is vertical.
I do use both ways just depending on if I am going to post it any other place I like to use photobucket, but if I think this is the only place I will post that picture then I will use the site up-loader.
You should post more often and help our board here.

Unfortunately over the internet it is sometimes difficult to show meaning, context and emotion. Then you run into the "this has been asked 100s of times use the search functionality b4 you ask". Long time posters get frustrated by repeatedly answering the same questions over and over. New users get frustrated because they feel like they are getting shut out.
