I'm waiting for the same answers...
I never install new updates until I watch the boards for a while to see if any bugs show up in the new version..then I decide if the update advantage offsets the bug possibilities...

Wonder what they were fixing this time?
Here are the release notes from the 998c Si software update. They should be similar to the other Si units that received the 5.500 update:
v5.500 - Corrected phantom tracks issue; Corrected waypoint skipping crashes; Corrected crashes when the Ethernet connection was removed; Corrected communications issues caused when Interlink went offline and correct sonar recording playback issues.
