Hey guys I recently got a trailor load of 4 inch pvc pipe. I have been researching on the forum how to make a structure but can't find anything with pipe that big. Any help, pictures on what to do with it would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of drilling holes and buying some one inch or half inch to cross thru it or screwing stakes into it. Do cap off both ends? I am aimlessly wandering thru on this project.

Put holes in it add sticks or small PVC pipes. Only cap ends if you want it to float up with should be unessarry. have seen some good looking PVC trees on here.
If it were me, this is how I would use it!!

If may suggest, start by lightly sanding the shiny slick outside finish, this allows algae a "foothold" onto it. Then drill 2 small holes in 1 end of each for 2" galvanized screw to help anchor it in cement. Drill more small guide holes for 1" to 2" pipes that are also sanded. Add glue on angles for outer branches. Place several of these in a 5 gal bucket and add cement. let stand for 12 hrs and then add lake...
Great advice. Sounds like a lot of work, but considering it will be there to hold fish forever, WELL worth it. I got a handful of the neighborhood kids to help me with the sanding...for free burgers, dogs, chips and drinks of course. ;) They even learned a few things in the process.Quote:

I saw some fish 'condos' where they put 4" PVC in a 5 gallon bucket of cement and then used bamboo as the horizontal pieces. Looked like they just drilled 1.5-2" holes all the way through and stuck 2-3 bamboo shoots through until firmly lodged.
That would work fine too. After the boo rots away, you still have "stumps" to fish.Quote:
