Rhodhiss 5/16
Took Skeeterdude to the Hiss after church to chase some bluegill with flyrods. Found them on beds in the back of most coves & had a ball. Caught over 100 in 3 hours. Great fun & a good day with my son. Released all to finish their business. Water temp was 76 -77 degrees in the afternoon. Did pull 6 crappie off one brush pile in 14' of water.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a good time with your son.

I figured that the gills had probably started to run up on there beds. Its amazing that the water has already climbed up into the 77 degrees. I can imagine that the 100 in 3 hours must have been a real blast. Thanks for the report.

Awesome report! I was wondering, do you prefer minnows, jigs or tube jigs this time of year and do you use a slip bobber? I went to the Mill pond in Granite Falls Sat morning and caught 3, one on a minnow, one on a tube jig and another on a trout magnet. Thanks!

DH- I have had good luck pullin a trout magnet across the beds under a slip float, but I prefer the fly rod with any type popper. My favorite is called a bream getter (Wal-Mart has these). It looks like an ant, white or black foam body with 6 white rubber legs. If they dont nail it as soon as it hits the water, 1 twitch of the rod tip & they will.

Thanks for the input skeeterguy. I will go pick up some bream getters at Walmart asap and give those a shot this week. I aready have some crappie magnets and I just picked up a few Thrill slip bobbers today. As long as I can hook up with my buddy (and his jon boat! Lol), I should be good to go. Also, I live in Hildebran if you would like to hook up some time for a trip. Thanks again!
