Buckeye Lake 5/13-5/14
Got to The lake about 4pm friday. Fished till dark, had our limit of really nice ones and 24 nice gills. Had countless throwbacks, threw alot of 9'' fish back also. It was a great evening for me and my good buddy. It was his first trip since he got lung cancer last summer, made it a even better time just to have him out. Saturday we started at 6 am and the bite was good early and slowed down alot as the front got closer. The fish were smaller in size also. We fished till noon and my buddy was whipped and wanted to go home. Had 37 crappies and 42 gills. It was a great trip. I love Buckeye Lake it always treats me good when I make the trip to it. I would say 95% were blacks that were either males or spawned females. Only seen a Few That still had a full belly of eggs. We only caught about 20 or so in the wood all the rest came off rocks, pads, and the cement walls was the best.

went to buckeye saturday with 2 buddys and i would have to agree with jigg'n fool the best bite for us was rocks or pads...fished lifts and they produced a few nice ones 13 3/4 being the biggest...but nothing like the rocks and pads (several 9s to 10s) we ended the day with 66 keepers and around 10 gills...the bite slowed way down when the front came in no doubt...only had 4 fish with eggs in them and 80% or the keepers were blacks...used silver and pearl stingers and blue and char tubes set about 20in deep...water temp was 71 to 74 degrees

Fished Friday had 57. Mostly whites out front of the brush. Also got a few dandys on some aluminum lifts. Probably caught 100 8'' also. Sat had 18 it was not as productive had 18 keepers and quit around 1 pm. Also had probably 75 nice gills. Some of the whites were still full of eggs some were not.
