I'm heading to Reelfoot lake to bluegill fish next week. The water is way up 3 - 5 feet is what I was told. Can anyone give me advice on the best method to catch some gills.
Thanks for your help!

The water is high but you should be able to put in at several ramps. I've been catching a few gills lately on the trees "where the bank used to be". My suggestion is to use a 1/80 or a 1/64 grizzly jig tipped with a wax worm on a 10ft or longer jig pole. If you've never seen it you should check out "Grizzly Fishing DVD". It's available online at http://www.grizzlyjig.com/html/grizzly_fishing_dvd.html I do this a lot as a "search" technique. If I find what I suspect to be a bed I'll back off and cast crickets to keep from spooking em. Not sure what this cold front is gonna do to the bite yet though. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.
Black and chartreuse jigs tipped with wax worms should catch some gills for ya.
