In talking with ODWC staff I hear it is great for big carp bu that's about all.
Its a relly gr8 redear fishery..has some in there at a pound or better..let us know how you do
:eek:Whattttt, big redear????????????????????
Not much luck yesterday or last nite. A few small bass. Too windy today. A 4 lb crappie was caught there recently.
I'd need proof of a 4 lb'er in Burtschi! ;) We used to catch decent sandbass there back in the early nineties though.
If you're in Norman and prefer small lakes try Dahlgren in the Lexington Wildlife Refuge. The fish are small, but it has some crappie and bass and ton of decent bluegill.
I talked to Larry Coffer at ODWC about the lake and he said that there are alot of small bass, small crappie, small bluegills, small sandbass and a bunch of small channels cats. It sounds like there is not much to justify fishing the lake in my opinion.
The 4lb crappie was in their local paper. I like Dahlgren. We've caught a lot of nice bass there. One was close to 7 lbs.
I agree about burtschi being full of small fish. Yes, not worth the trip.
Where is Burtschi?
Burtchi is SW of Chickasha about 15 miles or approx 4 miles east of Cement and 2 miles North at the sign.
