In the past I always used peanut oil until the price got so high... Now I hear folks complain about peanut oil having a bad taste. I am going to buy a Cajun Fryer and I need oil.
I could care less about health benefits.
What is the best "Tasting" oil.

corn oil or vegetable oil does fine.:o Peanut oil is too expensive.:rolleyes:

Joe, I used to buy peanut, and then found I could do just as good with canola, and be whole lot cheaper. So many people are allergic to peanut oil, and lately they are asking before they eat fish. They even recommend vegetable oil with thr cajun cooker.
I am fortunate enough to live in the same town with Riceland's World HQ (Stuttgart). I buy the "Frying Oil" from their gift shop. It is good stuff, and last I bought was about $35 for 5 gal. I am not sure if they sell it anywhere else, but I highly recommend it for durability, cost and taste. My two cents.
Clear frying oil from Sam's is what all your fish houses use. It will be the cheapest.
Canola is what most of us use. I bet a few of my friends and I fry as many as some small resturants.
I use vegetable oil but would try the rice oil if I get a chance to buy some.
