Does anyone have any tips for night fishing with light . thanks
I'm not the greatest night stalker, but what I usually do is find a big school of shad (preferably in a creek channel) and setup on top of them. The shad will come to the light and if you can catch some of them that are 1 to 2 inches long, you've most likely got it made.
thanks
The way I do it is I got a light set up that sticks up and out over the edge of the boat, this has 2 purposes. 1 to see the rod tips 2nd to keep the bugs up and away from our faces! Also I set out 2 floating lights (persoanlize prefrence), these are to draw in the bait fish. I set out 3 rods per light. Set each rod at a differnt depth, one just up off the bottom and each one a little shallower, till the start biting. Once the fish start biting set a few more poles at that same depth, and I may leave others set at differnt depths just in case they may go back deeper or shallower. Far as a location bridge piers are good, around submerged brush piles or my favorite is drop offs, where the water changes depth from about 25' to around 15' and shallower. I usally try to fish in about 13' to 20' of water. Hope this info helps you out, there are plenty of articles on this site and a few others, just punch in night stalking and they will come up. Good luck on your next night stalk, for me this is the only way to crappie fish!
