Just read where the crest at Greenville will be 59' on 5/12/11. The crest in Greenville in the 1927 flood was 54.6. Big detailed report that I found hard to follow, but suffice to say, we've got a big one coming and the report was published Sunday 4-24 using predictions for the rains last night, but not actual rainfall amounts.

that's the scary part is the predictions are based on predictions, what happens if we get an extra inch or two.
And the bad part is, they gettin purty good with their predictions. Back in the winter they said about 2 weeks before we got 4" of snow, that our area would get 3"-5" of snow.
Don't get crazy on us Minner...they still don't know the difference between 3 to 5 from the South and 27 out of the West. And don't even get me started on the East.Quote:

We just cleaned out our camp at Tunica yesterday at 41' on the MEM gage it will start in the house and they just changed memphis crest to 45 on the 10th is their best guess !!
Just make sure you save the blacked crappie cooking supplies and it'll be OK.

This flood will most likely if not definitely surpass the 1937 flood. If you don't know how bad that was, just google it. We have decent weather Thur-Sun, then another wet pattern sets in next week. This is gonna be bad bad bad and it's not only contained to the Miss.
