Is anyone out there having any luck with this method of fishing yet?
Sorta, but not really since I haven't caught any actually nesting yet. I'm using the long pole and catching some close to the bank, but as far as getting in the water, wading along the bank, finding them nesting, and jerking them out, the answer is no.
Might be due to low lake level or a different type of spawn this year, not sure......... but I'm hoping anyday now the doodle-socking will be the primary method I use to catch em.
Good luck to you and this was a good question, thanks for asking. Maybe some of the other guys will give you some feedback.
nope not yet..but have caught some with cork and jig last week for the first time in 1 foot of water..so soon maybe
Catching them on kerr with this method. Foot deep.
We caught a nice batch of spawning fish in less that 2' of water Monday on lower Eufaula. we weren't doodlesocking, but if the fish were where we found them then the doodlesocking would have to be good.
Well Im sure the doodlesocking method is a bust right no with the everlasting rain that we continue to have here in the southeastern part of the state. oh this suck right now.
Their scattered on the banks right now, just need some stable weather and sun to warm up the shallows and it wil be on. The few I caught Sat. were up there just getting acclimated to the new water, I know this because the hits were very light and some were just pushing the jig off in a circle.
