the GARDEN, she is tilled finally

man it's late for me but I was having trouble finding the right drive belt for the tiller. Got it the other day and tilled her up last night. The soil is FINALLY looking like it should after 6 years or working it. Last year I put about 4-6 inches of Pine bark mulch over the whole thing to keep the weeds down and also to add vegatative material to the clay that was there. Sho is nice tilling it up and seeing dark brown, almost black soil instead of lumps of Clay. LOL Gonna go back over it a couple more times Sunday and Hope to plant Tuesday. Sho wil be nice to have some Maters, squash, Peppers and other fresh vegis

Lookin good. You need to start you a compost pile in the corner...put all your leaves and grass cuttings in there. End up with good stuff to till in, and never run out of worms for perch jerkin. ;)

Started one last year but kept forgetting to add stuff to it. I'll get it planted and once the plants get up to about a foot tall, I'll add 4 inches of Bark Mulch to it again. When that all rots it'll be awesome

Hurry up and get em in this great looking garden spot, I don't want to wait past July 3rd, 5AM to raid the mater patch...

If it did last last year, I'll be giving away Maters for days. Cutting back to just 6 plants this year.

be careful, dd pine bark mulch can make the soil too acid.

I called the guy here in Jackson that writes for the paper about that Duck and what he told me was that Pine Bark Mulch was OK to use and actually good for it. Just don't use Pine straw. What he said anyways and he's supposed to be the local expert
