I have stayed at the Lodge and it was very nice. There is a restaurant on site. I know they have cabins available for rent also. Blue Mountain Lake is located south of Mt. Magazine. I have never fished it but it has a good reputation for crappie fishing. You can see the lake from the Lodge.

Thanks for the info...All the cabins are booked, so we are gonna stay at lodge. I seen Blue Mountain Lake on web site and google earth. Nice to know it has a reputation for crappie. The wife likes fishing and just looking for a lake that we might catch a few.
Once again....Thanks for the information
Let me know when you are going and I'll get you a fishing report for Blue Mountain. It is one of the crappie hot spots for this area.
Thank you kindly.......thinking bout sometime late may, I know the crappie prob will have slowed down but just wanted a place where might catch a few....even them ol brims!!!
Buck brush, buck brush, and more buck brush. lot's of visable and submurged timber too.
Wife and I go up every year for our anniversary and stay in one of the cabins. Food at the rest. is usually pretty good and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Since we are there the first weekend in Jan. have never tried to fish, in fact we are running almost 100% for getting snowed on. But that is good weather for sitting in the hottub. Fun place to visit.
Magazine is nice and blue mountain is probably better fishing, But I would like to plug Lake Fort Smith State Park. This park was completely built new about 5 years ago when the old park was removed and essentially burried with the lake expansion project. They have very nice cabins and a beautiful lodge. They also have swimming pool and playground, marina with boat rentals, hiking trails, and one of the most beautiful lakes in the area. I don't believe they have a restaraunt, but fayetteville is only a short drive and there is some fine dining establishments and shopping in this city. (Powerhouse being a personal favorite) I highly reccomend a visit to this park if you are ever in the erea.
