Look great Wax! Great color for our muddy water. Love the holo!
Nice ties!!!!!
Nicely Done. I have never been a big fan of thread bodies but have seen a lot of these popping up lately. I may have to tie a few to see if there isn't something to these. The heads are great, looks like a opal gem ball. May have to call this one "Putting on the Ritz".

These really don't have a thread body it's just enough thread to hold the feathers on. I don't tie an abundant amount like this but there is a Black Lake synthetic hair jig that looks similar to this(with just plain lead head) that is probably numbers wise the best jig in the state of Louisiana. I always keep a few tied and handy because I've seen it time and time again where that was the only jig they'd hit that day. Those who had a card of em would leave with a limit. I have no idea why it's so good but muddy, murky, clear water it's great. I have found that jigs with just a small neck tie such as these have a good bit more action because of the more freely moving feathers without the chenille body. The only other one I tie like this though is a threadfin shad jig. White head, white feather with a strip of black feather for the back, black thread around the neck.

Would like to get/learn that paint, wax. Great looking jig.
I've found that you can get that kind of action when you keep your tail tied as close to the head as possible and limit your chenille size and only make a single wrap.

Wax Guess it is a matter of opinion. They look in your photo as if they had thread bodies. Like I said Nicely Done.
I am sitting at the tying bench as I type and will tie up at least 6 for my jig box. Know about the Gray Ghost but the threadfin shad is a new one sounds like the Pattern in the north that is called Jim Stone. This Yankee is still learning so please be patcient. FWT we put a little yellow in the Threadfin between the black and white. This is a super pattern in the north and will catch just about all fish in the north.
There are many pattern and the more we know and exchange Ideas the better we can be when we are out on the water fishing. I get new patterns all the time . The ones that work the best are in my box. So I always appreciate new pattern and ideas to make my jigs work better. I know that there is no magic jig but the ones that work well go in to my box as goto crappie jigs. I am alway experimenting, looking and learning what works well in Caddo Lake. I have three boxes full of jig that did not make the grade. I hope that these patterns that you have given me will be in my box for a long time. Thanks
