Water is up but dropping. Fishing has been good, here are a few pictures from the last 10 days or so.

Nice catches but several look like they wouldn't be legal on Ky or Barkley.
On out lake we have a slot limit 25 fish total but only 10 can be over ten inches. So you are right they wouldn't be legal on KY or Barkley. I don't agree with the way it is set up but laws are laws and we still have to fallow them.
Should I feel special that you seem to put snide comments on my posts and nobody else's?
Since this is posted in the KENTUCKY FORUM and many folks from all over the country come to KY and Barkley Lake for crappie fishing, I thought the size of some of those fish need to be noted. We have a terrible problem here with folks, OOSERs and locals alike, keeping crappie less than the 10 inch size limit. It has been noted several times on this forum. If these pics were posted on the IL Forum or the main page, I would have not made my comments concerning size. Since Mean Green pointed out the rule differences on Rend, I still think they were some good catches.
Dux speaks the truth. Folks come here from all over and I guess assume that size and creel limits from their home waters are applicable universally.
When you say something to one of them about it, they tell you that they had no idea. Wheter that is a bold faced lie or simply laziness and indifference on their part, I don't know... but most of the ones that I have experienced just keep on doing it. Easier to beg forgiveness than seek permission, I believe is how the saying goes.
I think CDC needs to make a rule that you have to post size and creel limits from the waters that the fish were taken from along with the pics. Maybe if more people had it drilled into them, it might start to sink in a little bit. The breaking point of the local anglers watching the resources being abused has pretty well been reached.
I believe that this thread was started to give a statement concerning some good fishing in Southern Illinois, which is not far from you (that is why it was posted on the "KENTUCKY" board) It was stated that the fishing was good and to come up if you would like to fish. This was all done through a guy that paid to do so and advertise on ANY board that he pleases. It was then turned around to the problem that Kentucky lake has with people....."OOSERS and locals alike" ......keeping short fish? I don't get it. Re read the original post and then just stop. Hate to be "snide" BUT it made no sense, of what was originally posted, to comment as did like he pulled those fish out of Kentucky Lake or Barkley? Or to even compare them to Kentucky Lake fish? Don't you think that everyone could have figured it out on their own being that the thread started out saying "Rend Lake Southern Illinois"? I think both OOSERS and locals could have figured that one out? I know where this one is going and I will not make this a State to State war. Just please have a little respect for the OOSER guide that is trying to make a living in a near by location.
I think my explaination shows that evidently, they can't. There was no disrespect shown, simply an observation.
I don't know why some guys think that the KY forum needs out of state policemen to keep the threads here in line. I think CP already does a fantastic job of that.
Once again.....simple thread....had nothing to do with Kentucky Lake's problem of short fish being taken.....nothing to do with OOSERS or locals breaking rules.......just a good old "come on up and fish". No policemen......no drama.....just a good old fashion invite. That's all. Even a discount to ALL CDC members!
