Lowrance LCX-28HD?

How good is the GPS in these units?

The 28HD does not have a internal gps. it use a ext. gps ant.

Ok, let me rephrase my question. Is the GPS as good as the HDS units?

I had a LCX27 and the GPS worked great. I think the only difference is the HD.

I have a 28 also and love it,in my opinion they should have never quit making it.All around I think it,s the best unit's they ever put out.

pretty much same... gps ant. 3000 and internal gps in the HDS unit.

My LCX27 refreshes 1 per second. My HDS refreshes 5 times per second. Both are networked with the LCG 4000.

The HDS with internal antenna refresh is 1 per second. The LCX27 refresh is only 1 per second.

The high refresh rate is why I have the LCG 4000. I can find anything I have a waypoint marked with either one of the two with ease.
