I was told if you put your HB on Fish ID you will also see fish arches..

If so, why the choice?

Hello, I have noticed this on my HB. I normally don't use the fish ID just the lines and arches, but on a couple of ocassions my girls want to see the fish on the screen so I use the fish ID and have noticed some arches as well as the little fish. Don't know why or how, but it does happen. Good luck.

Yes it is true. When your Humminbird unit shows a Fish ID Icon on your unit it is over the actual sonar return from what the unit thinks is a fish. That sonar return may or may not be in the form of an arch.
