tin and lead is what I pour..not 100% tin
I am surprised that you would want to use Tin. They would have to be galvanized to hold up and the weight would be off that is for sure. I am sure you have a reason and I would like to hear it. Just out of curiosity. I have used some alloys with lead but not pure tin.

With tin you'll have to use a bigger head to get the weight. A 1/4 oz head in tin weighs about 1/16th if I'm not having a brain fart .
I bought a bunch of tin heads maybe 4 years ago and they are still sitting here. I just don't use them!

If your wanting tinheads where the dont weight the same as lead try using beads plastic or glass
It is common to use brass or nickel plated beads "pinned" to an aberdeen hook for steelhead jigs. The light weight allows for the current or checking your line to lift the offering in the water colomn. A 5/32" brass bead jig has a slower sink rate than a 1/64th oz. jig. I may have to tie a couple for fishing for SLABS!!Quote:

Depending on what size you really need you could always buy the tungsten beads which weigh a bit more than lead. However they do cost a good bit more. Just need some fly hooks for them too.
