Crown Lake

Hi Guys,

My wife and I, along with our daughter, son-in law and grandkids are headed your way next week for spring break. We will be staying at the Crown Point Resort on Crown Lake, and I've decided to bring the boat to try to keep the grandkids from getting too bored. Ok, the real reason is I want to get in some crappie and gill fishing. My grandson and daughter both love to fish, so can anybody give a Hoosier any tips on where in that area to fish, best bait ( jigs, minnows, etc), type of fishing, still fishing, trolling?? My daughter has four kids and doesn't get to fish too often, so I would like to put her on some fish. Thanks and truely appreciate any help.

I never have fished it, but it's close, and I get good reports from folks who do fish it. There's a marina there so you might ask them. A friend who lives there showed me a picture of the son of the people who own it holding up 2 3lb. crappie he caught off the bank right around the marina.

Thanks Blair, I'm sure we will do some bank fishing as there will be too many for the boat, but will probably do some trolling and see what happens. I will also check at the marina and see what I can find out.
