I am thinking of taking the wife over to Guntersville this spring to catch some of them big shellcrackers I heard about.
Does anyone have any suggestions on when to go, depth, bait, areas to fish?

Bob, we have been having the best bites the first full moon in May or the last in April. Sometimes they are a little early and you have to watch the weather. Crickets or red head squirel tail jigs are my favorite bait in about 2 to 4 ft deep. They should start bedding at this time and the beds can be seen because of the many shells on the bottom. You can catch some earlier in a little deeper water before they start to bed. Look for any type of wood that is away from the bank.
Thanks DK, I'll probably be giving you a holler closer to that time period and see if you can point me in the right direction.
Deputy, How many full moons do yall have each month at Guntersville??:D
