And how long for a 65in. drift sock. Its a 17.5 bass tracker. Also where is the best place on the boat to tie them? For slow trolling off the front.
Thanks WILBUR

I don't use rope, and recomend you don't either. Buy the bouy harness, it has a snap ring you can clip to the tie down ring on the back of the transome. The first sock I had, I cheaped out and had it tied to a cleat with rope....It is at the bottom of a lake somewhere now. If you do go with a rope, you only need about ten or fifteen feet at most and try to rig some type of foam noodle or float on it in case it comes loose.
Thanks feelay
Harness is better. I rigged a rope with a buoy and maybe 10' or rope with a carabiner and a float. More is not necasarily better as far as the length. Just more opportunity to get snagged. But you do want it far enough back to not be shielded by the wake of the boat and negate some of it's effect.
Wannabe...
Came off the cleat.
I made mine out of 3/8" hollow nylon. Put a piece of swimming noodle in the middle and so far so good. Spent maybe $20 for 2.
