lowrance x90 issue/question

thanks for reading and any help.
My 3 yr old x90 reads 3.5 ft most of the time, if i get up speed it flashes then works correctly fo a while the when slowing down it goes back to reading 3.5 or 3.7
the transducer is clean and as far as I can tell its positioned ok. Any ideas?

Sounds like a transducer issue. Where is it installed?

Might have some residue on it. Cleaned it lately?

Just got back from the lake....indeed the transducer is clean, mounted on the left rear pontoon on a bracket. thanks
