I've got about 75 gal. of gas that has been sitting in a boat for 3 .5 yrs. I would like to get rid of that fuel. Stabilizer was not added to the tank. Doh Do you think it would be fine to pump that tank and use the fuel in the lawn mowers?

trouble ??????
I would not try to run it in anything....if you do you are just asking for trouble. Find a safe way to throw it away.....kill some weeds with it or something.
The decision to run it in anything else could be risky. If the fuel didn't smell funky and stale gas does have a distinct smell I would maybe mix it half and half at the absolute max with fresh gas in a push mower or other cheap 4 stroke motor. I wouldn't run it in anything other than that. I am by no means a mechanic so I would talk to one that you trust the opinion of. Unfortunately fuel of all sorts is very hard to dispose of (I am a fuel technician in the Air Force) as waste legally and legitimately. Might find a few brush piles that need to be disposed of and use a little at a time and I mean a little. A gallon of gasoline makes a heck of a fireball!!! You couldn't get me to stand within 400 yards of 75 gallons of it getting ready to go off.
as long as it's not my lawnmower!! i agree with G, kill grass!
I believe I would also rinse that tank out with a few gallons of gas also, slop it around in tank then dump it also.................may want to change fuel filter after a few hours of running new gas. I do not like getting stuck on water or getting flat tires, big waste of my time.
There is a new fuel additive that I saw advertised on a boat show last Saturday and it is called Formula X-2. It is supposed to be so much better than any other fuel stabilizer on the market. Before you throw all that gas away, I would contact them about this additive. 75 gallons of gas is a lot of money:eek: They have a web site and I would try to contact them about this before getting rid of the old gas...Thumbs Up
If it wasn't too funky i'd use it in my mower or tiller,i've done it before with out any trouble.
where did you buy the fuel at makes lots of reason to get it in mower.or weed killer .man that lots of gas .. ? let us know what you find out ?
