I need a favor. The next time you are out please pay close attention to the pointer (or little boat) when you drop below 5MPH.I know for a fact that with the H2O and the LCX-27, when you start going so slow, the indicator will start going sideways instead of pointing in the actual direction you are going. When you speed up it will straighten up. I am curious if the newer models still do this. I do appreciate any input.

I have a 522c igps it goes straight like it should

My LCX28C doe's not do this and I haven't noticed anything wrong with my new HDS7 on my other boat.

You might need software update. check your software on your units and see if matches with the current software.
here's a link for you: Product Software Updates | Lowrance

Thanks Jason but I keep the software up to date. I do need to double check the H20 though.

My 520c has never done this and neither has my Ifinder or the H2O I had.

My 5300c chartplotters work good down to all most stand still-- .3 or so --have,nt used my HDS7 yet

I just spent the day slow trolling w/ Billbob. His Lowrance HDS pointer tracked perfectly, we were in the .3 to.5 speed range a lot :) I also run an Eagle Fish Elite 640 on my boat and don't have directional issues at slow speeds.

Bill, do you run with North Up, or Track Up?

Have a 522igps and explorer map handheld and both of mine do not do that..both tracking and north set to top of unit though..might try that
