condos

several weeks back i made up a few condos and on that weekend i went fishing....also that day i got a little gel coat damageDoh...lol going to get boat back this week and now the condos are all dead and brown. just wondering if they will still be good to put out? will algea grow on dead bamboo or does it need to be green to get the food chain started?

They will still be just fine, maybe a little more breakable than when they were green, But they will still slime over in the same amount of time maybe even a little faster. The only advantage to them being green is that they attract fish quicker when green because they are alot larger and they have not had a chance to sour. Just my opinion. I sink structures for bass and crappie alot and when they are green they attract fish immediatly, don't know why but it does. When the Green leaves start to slime over the fish seem to pull off of it, I have been told its because the green is rotting and souring, once the green has rotted off of the structure the fish come back. This is just what I have been told, dont know if it has been scientifically proven or not.

Will catch fish either way, green or brown. Only thing I evver saw sour bad enough to run of fish a spell was green leafy hardwoods.

You shouldn't have any problem with the bamboo "souring", like the hardwoods do. However, dried brown bamboo doesn't seem to last as long under water as green bamboo does.

They wont work. Just bring them to Lake Poinsett and I will dispose of them for you. HAHA Just kidding they will be fine. Put them in the water and fish them.Good luck!
