Taking a trip to the Newport Beach area any help

I see there are some lakes just East of there any advice for fishing?

try the sandiego area, there are plenty of
lakes with slabs.........

el-capitan, hodges, lower o-tay has some too,,
lake perris is looking promising too,,,

i fish there a few times a year, first week
of march the bite starts.......

there's alot of crappies but they tend to
run a little on the smaller side,,,

its a cool lake thow,,,,
