Put'n Out Stake Beds & Think'n Bout Fish'n
Well me & a buddy put out 3 BIG stake beds yesterday. Each 1 was about as big as a box van. Probably drove over 200 10' bamboo posts. Couldn't put them where I really wanted too but they're in good spots none the less. The bottom was so hard you couldn't get them on over 10" and you hit rock!
I had forgotten how hard driv'n stake beds was. I just thought I was sore after we cut that Bamboo. Boy am I feel'n it this morning!
Get'm my stuff gathered up to catch the boat tomorrow. Looks like we've returned to a more stable weather pattern & fish'n should pick up in another week or so.
Even though those fish are gonna be coming out of deep cold water they should be get'n busy. The water temp has been so cold, so long that these fish may be a little under weight compared to previous years. They don't need to feed much when the water is that cold.
Fish should be pretty aggressive this season. We've had 2 years in a row where the bays froze & we've had back to back years with significant shad kills. I know we've had at least 4 big kills this year. Had about that many last year too. Less baitfish creates more competition for food. It'll be like 50 cops fight'n over 1 box of donuts! :D
No offense Bad Brad. :D
