Side Imaging
Pondering on a side imaging humminbird. Have seen several posts on the trolling motor electronics page of this forum but have not talked to anyone around here who has one.
Anybody have any experience with these units either good or bad?Worth the investment or not??
Thanks

I like to fish deep cover that is near visible cover. Ran my 997 down my favorite oxbow and marked about a dozen sunken trees and brushpiles. Marked them on the GPS. Now I start at one end and work my way through them. Pick up 2-6 at most of them and end up with a nice mess. The tops are rarely fished because most folks hit the visible stuff and miss the top 15 feet away.
I love mine and don't see how it wouldn't help on any lake.

If you got the dough, I say go for it, they are worth the money. Its the stuff you cant see below the water that increases your catch, And with these units it give you the ability to see the unseen from above the water. It nearly take a college degree in electronics to figure out every feature but it is worth it.
