When using vinyl........
How do you get a 1/8 or smaller jig head not to become the size of a much larger jig when painting with vinyl? I used it about 8 years ago and could never get the head of a smaller jig to ever turn out right let alone round. I know it sounds wrong but sometimes a the size of jig head seems to make a huge difference for me and how many fish I catch.
Is there a trick to using it that I am missing to make a really thin coat or is it just the nature of the best that you will have a larger jig head after you have put your 2 coats on? This is the main reason I switched to powder paint because it adds such a miniscule amount ot the diameter of the jig head.
Also, how long can you detect even the slightest odor from it after dried?

You must be dipping your heads if they get that much bigger as dipping will make for a lot thicker coat. I don't notice a big difference, but I paint with a brush and just make sure I get good coverage and then follow with a clear vinyl. I prefer Powder just because it's easier and faster and not near the smell, but I do use some. Once it sets good I can't imagine smelling it, but never tried either.

thin the paint way down...Mine is almost like painting with thicker milk...if you need to put another coat on it...this is how i do it...And people talk about how nice they look...
