Jordan 2-12

Fished Jordan last Sat from 12:30 til 5pm at the 64 bridge. Fished with minnows in main channel with double rigs just off the bottom. Caught 35 in first hour and a half. Ended up catching 64. All 10-12" fish. Here's a typical fish.....

The wind blew a little and that made holding over our spot kinda hard. Tried tying up to the bridge but the bite dropped off for us and we went back to the trolling motor. Most of the half dozen or so boats tied up.......

We reeled them in real slow but they still had alot of air in them. The tip on squeezing their bladders worked great. We didn't lose a fish to the gulls. All fish were released. Did see something I hadn't seen before. Tommy caught a couple of shad on minnows. Thought at first he snagged them, but this one was hooked in the mouth.....

Saw several fish that were floating. The gulls were picking them off. Looked like everybody got their share of fish. The bite got slower later in the day for us. We fished out from under the bridge most of the day. Great day on the water and burned very little gas.

We fished on Sunday. I caught a couple of shad as well. Saw others catching shad. All hooked in the mouth. I could not believe it. I guess they were hungry.

We anchored between the bridges in the main channel. Not exactly sure on how many we caught but it was steady catching. We kept 26 fish all 10-13 inches.

I did see one little boy catch a really really nice fish. His dad scooped it up in the net and it went directly into the live well.
My son had one about the same size but it came unbuttoned right at the boat.

I hooked something large on a jig but it did not stay on long. I am positive it was not a crappie. Had to be a striper or something. It came unhooked before I got it to the top.

We had a great day. Got cold when the sun started going down.

Great job team yellowdog. Sounds like y'all had some pretty quick-paced fun on Saturday and ended up with a good mess of fish
for your efforts. I have got to get on the water sometime this week... today would have been the best day... but I'll have to try
to find another day this week when the wind will let me... got too much goin' on today.

I've caught shad before on jigs while fishing a local 62 acre reservoir couple weekends ago. At first I thought it was a freak of nature thingy.
