If you purchase the XNT-9-DI-T transducer, will the old 597ci with the most current software give down imaging capabilities?
No it will not brdhunter2,
Both the unit and the transducer have to have the sonar capability built into them. In this case the older 597ci unit does not have the circuitry in it to support the DI sonar frequencies or the different 2D sonar frequency either.
