Ohio Ice
Just a heads up for most of the Buckeye State. This has been one of our better years for ice. Here in the south eastern part of the state , we have an average of 10 -12 inches. So if any of you would like to give icefishing a try, it would be a good time . BUT REMEMBER THERE STILL IS NO SUCH AS SAFE ICE. BE CAREFUL AND NEVER FISH ALONE.

And HAVE your safety equiptment WITH you, not in your vehicle; it only takes ONCE, and it isn`t that cold water WANTS to kill you...but it WILL, anyway...as he said, enjoy it and please be SAFE!,

My Buddy went through the ice last year..Thank God it was only 4 ft. deep. Scared the hell out of him...Never go out on it alone...Stay Safe....JIM...CL....

Oh yes, i have been out putting holes in the ice, i am in the north west/north central area of the state. Farmpond gills have been the most of my success this year, but had a fun day today... Sunny skies, decent temps and standing on between 12" & 16" of ice! That is the thickest i have cut through in my somewhat limited ice fishing years - arms got a workout. No crappie, but put several cats and a few perch on the ice. I think i feel a cold coming on..... may have to miss a day of work this week. :D

Forgive my plugging another website, but if you have a moment, do look up Ohio Game Fishing.com> Regional Fishing Reports> SW Ohio> CJ Brown Water Temps, the last couple of enrties; the thread is by my "Friend" the Intimidator whom started it and is an "ok" fisherman, soon to end his own temparary banshment from their website, my own electronis exile from those pages forever to continue...the articles of note are concerning the ice bound adventures of "Saugeye Marc" (of possible "Walleye Central" fame?) and the poster "Fshman 165"; am just SO anxious to converse with either of these gentlemen on their rather IMPRESSIVE "looting" of the lake by their own admission. Am VERY inquisitive as far as WHERE, how deep, on what? You know, the usual? Any photo GRAPHIC evidence?
