I've tied on one and they work great but don't own one myself. Do YOU need one? I tie lots of jigs and haven't found a need for a fancy vice yet...as long as it's rotary and holds right you're good to go. Sure if I had a extra nice vice I'd use it but not needed unless you want to treat yourself to one. ;)
you have one for sale??
Skip ties on one and can give you the skinny, I'm sure.

I used and sold Nor Vise when I had the fly shop. I stated that if I were to serious about tying again I would use nothing but the Nor Vise. As far as cost goes it is all relative. If you played golf for a hobby you would not think anything about a $500.00 set of clubs. If photography is your thing look at what cameras cost when you get into the serous upper models. How about shooting shotguns at the gun club? When you consider the enjoyment of your hobby the Nor Vise is down right cheap.
I also tie saltwater stuff. How large a hook will the Nor-Vise hold?
Thanks,
Pete
Norm makes different jaws for different applications and you need to go to his site.. Go to Google and type in norvise. I think he also has a number where you can call. Norm is one of the nicest people you will ever talk to. Since I never got involved with salt water I can't be of much help in that department.
Jig we think alike....i know there are many vises out there that are capable of handling the job im wanting to perform, but i want to get something im pleased with...I looked at peak vises today and im very impressed with there salt water jaws....your right when you say the Nor-vise is cheap compared to what we spend on other things.
