This is what I was able to shake out of my fuel filter:eek:. I changed it and went to the lake last Sunday to fish and see if it ran better.
The results were....no more hard starts and no more rough hole shots. I almost fell down when I gave it the gas and she jumped up on plane:)
She is Smoooooooth now!:D
are those rust or metal pieces? will a magnet pick them up? if you have a metal or steel tank it may need replacing.
Not metal but plastic:confused: I could squeeze them between my fingers.

I have heard that you can put some kind of fuel treatment (Stabil, Seafoam) in you'r fuel and eliminate that problem.

Sure looks like gas hose lining. I replaced my dry-rotting hoses this past summer and the inside of the lining was flking off just as in your picture. I'd replace the fuel line, cheap peace of mind.
If you are using gas with 10 percent ethanol.....then you need to be sure that you are using alcohol resistant fuel lines....if not the inside of your fuel lines will deteriorate and stop your filter up and maybe even your carbs. My boat is a 2006 model and it came with the alcohol resistant fuel lines. The lines are stamped every foot or so with the wording acohol resistant.
