transducer mount for back of aluminum boat?

somewhere on here i saw a deal bout mounting a transducer on the back of a boat without drilling holes. i've searched and searched and can't find it. i think it was some kind of plexi-glass thing. any help?

These are pretty common..you still have to mount the plate, but it allows you to move the transducer for best performance without drilling extra holes in the boat

I have seen success with using 3M VHB Marine Grade double sided tape too. This is from their Very High Bound product line and have been told that it is available in auto parts stores as it is used to hold chrome details on cars. Use at your own risk though.

I know that some have installed the transducer mounting plates using silicone or some other type of removeable adhesive.

Than there are also transducer jigs that clamp to the top of the transom.

thanks greg. whatever way i mount it i will have a "safety rope" on the transducer incase something happens. the places i run with my boat it's a must to do that. or a kickup deal.

The way I did mine is on the bottom side of the motor mount there is aluminum deal held on with to bolts I think its for corrosion aint exactly sure. But I used an aluminum angle and bolted it to there and then bolt the TD to the other end. Heres a pic But since this pic I moved it outward 6in. to get away from the step in hull. No drilling boat at all.

Probably will if you use the expense 3M marine grade one, you will have to go to a marine/boat shop and ask them for best 3M caulk cause Ican't remember the part ##.Would not use average hardware stuff, that's asking for trouble
