BnM Russ Bailey 10.5' pole

Have been considering getting the BnM R.Bailey 10.5' pole and was wondering what all of you that have used it think of it? How sensitive is it? Is there a pole thats more sensitive for Vert. Jigging? How is it for flipping/casting? Does it have a good back bone? (from watchin MidWest Crapping it looks like a good pole with good back bone) Also what size of reel is good to pair with a rod like this? Have a small Pflueger Trion and Abu Cardinal (both say 80yds/6lb) that need a pole, would this rod work? Or should I size up?

I have 6 of the pre- B"n"M Russ Baileys (Back before Crappie Wizard sold out to B"n"M). I suspect they are even better now that B"n"M has gone to the cork handle on them. Good rod with out the cork!

I have got to know a guy pretty good before I'll even let him fish with 1 of mine. Lite as a feather.

I have the little level winds on mine for vertical jigging but you could use about anything you wanted to.

Yes it is a good pole, and any of the crappie wizard poles are.

I don't think either Russ Bailey or Richard Williams would have let BNM put their name on anything they didn't think was a good product.

Good rods, I would suggest playing with reels till you find one that gives you the best balance point.....a heavy rod balanced fishes better than a light rod unbalanced.

Very good advice

You can also tape quarters or some other weight to the bottom. He's right an rod & reel that isn't balanced will wear you out. A balanced rod lets you fish all day w/little effort.

Wait on second though, with our U.S. currency dropping like a rock you might get off cheaper with the Quarters! :D

Nothing at all wrong with Russ's 10.5. It will make you a good jig fishing rod.
